Attend Anywhere 2024 r3

What’s new and what’s changed in this release of Induction Attend Anywhere

Released from Monday 13 May 2024

This release contains the following improvements for individual consultations and meetings:

• Calls now use the Amazon Chime service, improving quality and resilience. New servers for video and audio data mean you might need to update your firewall rules.

• We re-designed the call screen. To help participants focus on the conversation, we’ve reduced clutter while keeping essentials within easy reach. Layout now adjusts automatically as participants join, leave, or share their screens.

• To identify their organisation or help protect privacy, service providers can change their background by uploading a custom image.

• Participants can now see the active speaker during a call. When someone is speaking, their video thumbnail has a white border.

• When reporting call usage in CSV files, the Room ID and User ID values are now alphanumeric string identifiers. These values used to be simple integer numbers. Previously generated reports will not change. Waiting-area IDs are not changing.

We also removed some things from Attend Anywhere:

  • Reloading the page in the browser, re-joins the same call without disrupting other participants—so we removed the Refresh button.

  • Service providers can no longer transfer callers to a waiting area that’s currently closed, because it doesn’t make sense. Closed waiting areas no longer appear in the transfer-caller list.

  • Usage reports no longer include internal meeting rooms. Contact us if you need to generate these reports.

The devices supported by this release have changed. Callers need to use a device running at least Windows 10, macOS 10.15, iOS 15, or Android 8.0 (Oreo). For more information about device requirements, visit What do you need?

Known issues

Key issues found in this release. To see a full list, visit Known issues.

  • If the active camera is removed during a call, the call doesn’t automatically switch to the default camera (as it does for microphones or speakers). To work around this problem, the caller can choose another camera and turn on video using the Camera button.

  • Participants waiting to join the call from an iPhone or iPad cannot control the waiting-music volume using the switches on the side of the device or the system’s volume settings.

  • New background images aren’t saved for the next call if the browser window is closed after choosing the image. To work around this problem, leave the browser window open for few minutes to upload the image to the service.

Limitations

The more-important limitations with this release. To see a full list, visit Limitations.

  • When switching between front and rear cameras on a small number of mobile devices, the video image jumps into an enlarged view and back again.
